Product Description
Cold-pressed walnut oil is pressed from shelled Bulgarian walnuts without heat or solvent. The result is a delicate oil with a characteristic mild walnut aroma, a golden-amber colour with a slight green tinge, and a fatty acid profile that provides both linoleic acid (omega-6) and alpha-linolenic acid (ALA, omega-3) in a ratio of approximately 4:1.
Walnut oil is one of the few plant-based oils with meaningful amounts of omega-3, making it attractive for functional food formulations, premium dressings, and nutraceutical applications. It should not be heated as the polyunsaturated fats are sensitive to oxidation.
Bulgaria produces walnuts of excellent quality in the Varna and Shumen regions. We source from established growers and cold-press in small batches to maintain quality. Each batch is tested for FFA, peroxide value, and moisture.
