Product Description

High-oleic sunflower oil is pressed from specially bred sunflower varieties selected for their elevated oleic acid content (typically 75–90%). The high proportion of monounsaturated fat makes this oil significantly more stable against oxidation and heat than conventional linoleic sunflower oil, without the use of hydrogenation or any chemical process.

Cold-pressing preserves the natural tocopherols and avoids the flavour alteration associated with refining. The result is an oil with a mild, clean taste, light golden colour, and extended shelf life — well-suited for premium cooking applications, high-heat stir-frying, food service, and as a base oil for emulsions and spreads.

We source high-oleic sunflower seed from specialist growers in Bulgaria and press in dedicated runs to avoid cross-contamination with standard linoleic varieties. Oleic content is verified per batch and included in the COA.

Frequently Asked Questions

Polyunsaturated fats (like linoleic acid) oxidise faster than monounsaturated fats (oleic). High-oleic oil has far less linoleic acid and therefore a slower oxidation rate, longer shelf life, and higher smoke point.
Cold-pressed (unrefined) high-oleic sunflower oil typically has a smoke point of around 200-210°C — lower than refined versions but suitable for most cooking applications.
