Bakery Grade Sunflower Kernels (Wholesale)

Agros-98's Bakery Grade hulled sunflower kernels are produced from sunflower varieties grown on our own farmland in the Varna region under a strictly monitored low-pesticide cultivation program. After harvest, the raw seeds proceed through mechanical hulling, aspiration, and advanced gravity-separation to achieve an exceptional minimum purity specification of 99.98%.

The standard bakery size range — calibrated to 550 to 600 pieces per ounce (pcs/oz) — delivers a highly consistent kernel profile that toasts evenly and integrates uniformly into commercial bread doughs, soft rolls, crackers, and granola clusters. The natural white-to-light-grey kernel colour provides excellent visual contrast in finished artisan baked goods.

Our Bakery Grade guarantees an oil content of 45–50% and a strict moisture maximum of 8% for optimal shelf stability. Processing takes place in our fully integrated, FSSC 22000-certified Suvorovo facility. Full documentation including a batch-specific COA, Certificate of Origin, and EUR.1 movement certificates is supplied with every bulk container shipment.

Premium Bakery Grade

Our Premium Bakery Grade represents the finest selection from our sunflower kernel range — hand-sorted for extra-large kernel size, exceptional whiteness, and the tightest purity tolerances we offer. Each batch undergoes an additional optical sorting pass to remove any off-colour or undersized kernels.

At 500 to 550 pieces per ounce, these kernels are visibly larger than standard bakery grade and deliver a premium visual impact in artisan breads, patisserie toppings, and health-food products where kernel appearance matters.

Moisture is held to a tighter maximum of 7%, reducing the risk of rancidity during storage and giving manufacturers more flexibility in shelf-life calculations. Available with Kosher documentation on request.

Confectionery Grade Sunflower Kernels

Our Confectionery Grade kernels represent the largest and most visually perfect whole-kernel fraction extracted from our multi-stage hulling operation. Hand-selected for ultimate uniform shape and a pure, unblemished white appearance, these premium kernels are sized precisely at 450 to 500 pieces per ounce (pcs/oz). Their significant visual and textural impact makes them the industry standard for retail snack mixes, premium trail mixes, coated chocolate confections, and gourmet savoury toppings.

To meet the demanding requirements of direct-to-consumer packaging, broken kernel content is held to an extraordinarily strict maximum of 2%, ensuring a premium intact-kernel ratio in your finished product. Furthermore, the colour specification demands pure white to light-cream kernels, strictly eliminating grey or off-tones. We achieve a virtually flawless 99.99% purity through secondary optical sorting lines.

Kosher and Halal documentation is available on request. This flagship grade dominates the European premium snack food and private-label grocery market, supplied in standard 25 kg paper bags or efficient 1,000 kg industrial big-bags.

Sunflower Kernel Chips (Broken Seeds)

Sunflower kernel chips are a natural by-product of our hulling and sizing process — pieces that fall outside the whole-kernel size fractions. Despite their irregular shape, chips retain the same nutritional profile as whole kernels: high oil content (42–48%), good protein levels, and clean flavour.

Whole kernel content is limited to a maximum of 5%, meaning the overwhelming majority of the product is genuine broken pieces — a requirement for customers formulating bird-feed, energy bars, or granola who need a specific chip character rather than crushed whole kernels.

Supplied in bulk 500 kg or 1 000 kg big-bags for feed and industrial customers, or in 25 kg paper bags for smaller food manufacturers. Non-GMO and Bulgarian origin documentation is standard with all shipments.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Confectionery grade kernels are larger (450–500 pcs/oz) and selected for uniform appearance and a stricter broken-kernel limit (max 2%). Bakery grade (550–600 pcs/oz) is slightly smaller and ideal for toasting and incorporation into doughs. Premium Bakery sits between the two at 500–550 pcs/oz with tighter purity and moisture specs.
Our MOQ is one 20-foot container, typically 18–20 metric tonnes depending on packaging configuration. Smaller trial orders (1–5 MT) can be arranged for new customers subject to availability.
We supply raw hulled kernels only. Roasting is not part of our current process. Many of our bakery and confectionery customers roast in-line or through partner roasters.
Kosher documentation is available on request for Bakery, Premium Bakery, and Confectionery grades. Please specify this requirement when enquiring so we can include it in the quotation.
We currently produce under a low-pesticide programme but do not hold organic certification at this time. Please contact us to discuss your specific certification requirements — we are actively exploring organic pathways.
Every shipment includes a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Certificate of Origin. EUR.1 movement certificates are available for EU-bound shipments. Phytosanitary certificates and third-party lab reports can be arranged on request.
