Product Description

Coriander seed oil cold-pressed from Bulgarian-grown Coriandrum sativum is a speciality fat with a distinctive fatty acid profile dominated by petroselinic acid — a rare C18:1 fatty acid (an isomer of oleic acid) that occurs almost uniquely in apiaceous seeds. This composition gives coriander oil oxidative stability and a cosmetic feel profile unlike any common vegetable oil.

The cold-press process retains some of the characteristic linalool-led aromatic compounds from the coriander seed, producing an oil with a faint herbal warmth. Applications span premium cooking and flavouring, functional food formulations, cosmetic emollient bases, and pharmaceutical excipients.

We produce this oil in limited quantities from our own coriander seed processing. MOQ is lower than our commodity oils as this is a speciality product with smaller batch volumes. Full COA and fatty acid profile are provided with each batch.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Petroselinic acid is an isomer of oleic acid found almost exclusively in the seeds of Apiaceae plants (coriander, dill, parsley). It has skin-conditioning properties and is used in cosmetic formulations for its emollient feel.
No. Cold-pressed coriander seed oil is a fixed (fatty) oil — it does not evaporate and contains no significant volatile components. Coriander essential oil is steam-distilled and contains the volatile aromatic compounds (primarily linalool).
