Product Description
Broken sunflower kernels — also referred to as chips or splits — are a by-product of our hulled kernel production, where kernels break during hulling and separation. Rather than discarding or downgrading this material, we clean and grade it to a consistent food-grade specification.
Chips retain the full nutritional profile of whole kernels: high oil content, rich in linoleic acid, and with the characteristic flavour of Bulgarian sunflower. They are widely used in granola formulations, energy bars, bird and pet food, and as a cost-effective ingredient for bakery applications where appearance is secondary.
With whole kernel content held below 5%, the material is consistently a chip fraction. Hulls are held below 1% for food-grade applications. Bulk big-bag supply is our most common format for this product.
